Dance Jail: Enter the Soundtrack

The dystopian disco score for Jean-Patrick Nova’s comedy short Enter Dance Jail; newly remixed, remastered and expanded.

Do you like grunting, animal noises, and orchestra hits? Do you agree that the saxophone is the funniest but also best horn? Is your favorite thing in Thriller the part where Vincent Price does a big laugh at the end? If so, this just might be the record for you.

Octodad (nobody suspects a thing)

I’ll tell you a thing I did not suspect: that this song would become as popular as it did. It really is pretty catchy though, if I do say so myself.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is the sequel to the splash hit, Octodad! This time, our cephaloprotagonist has gotten himself in a bind between his wife’s mounting mistrust, and a disastrous trip to the local aquarium! Are you dad enough to control the titular octopus father as he strives to hide his nautical nature from his family while keeping his tangled tentacles intact?

Octodad: Dadliest Catch was developed by Young Horses, and is available on PC, Mac, Linux and PS4

TV Dads - All Skate!

A lo-fi tribute to the golden age of roller skating music, bounced back and forth between computer and cassette multiple times for maximum flutter and grit.

Think of “All Skate!" as the music from one of your mom’s aerobics tapes, left out in the sun for a while. Jane Fonda’s leotard, programmed into a computer. A side-ponytail converted to MIDI.

Dimetrodon - II

After playing together on and off for a few years, Dimetrodon formed in earnest in January 2019 with the goal of recording the definitive musical representation of the Vietnam War and raking in some of that good ‘All Along The Watchtower’ money. When the results were deemed “much too good and also brave” to ever be released, the gang turned their attention instead to the realm of high fantasy.

The 12 instrumental tracks of Dimetrodon’s *II* loosely follow the story of a savage barbarian as he faces off against a wizard and his monster friends in the windswept deserts of Mars. Drawing from stoner, prog, proto-metal, krautrock, and other influences, *II* is a window into of the mind of a boomer dad describing the airbrushing on the cargo van he had back when he was your age.

  • Bass - Jim Lecheler

  • Synth and guitar - Ian McKinney

  • Drums - Rene Moncivais
